About Us

Where We Began

Jean’s Jams started with a simple idea more than 20 years ago, to preserve the best of British fruit using traditional methods and a personal touch. Founded by Jean herself, our small, family-run business has grown from humble beginnings into a beloved brand known for its dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Whilst now happily retired, we continue to produce products that reflect Jean's passion for perfecting the art of preserving, ensuring that the authentic taste of homemade goodness is captured in every spoonful.

How It's Made

At Jean’s Jams, we believe that great taste begins with tradition. All our jams, marmalades, curds, and chutneys are made by hand in small batches using the open-pan method—a time-honoured technique that allows the natural flavours of the fruit to shine through. By carefully simmering our ingredients in open pans, we ensure that each batch receives the attention it deserves, resulting in a product that is rich in flavour and texture. This dedication to the craft of preserving is what makes our products stand out.

Our Flavours & Recipes

Our range of preserves offers something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of classic favourites or looking for something a bit more adventurous. From the rich, deep flavours of our damson jam to the award-winning tang of our Seville Orange Marmalade with Alnwick Rum, we have something to suit every palate. Each recipe is carefully crafted to bring out the best in every ingredient, ensuring that our products not only taste delicious but also offer a unique and memorable experience.

Our Ingredients

Quality is at the heart of everything we do at Jean’s Jams. We use only the finest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, to create our preserves. All our jams are classified as ‘extra jams,’ meaning they contain a higher fruit content than standard jams, delivering an intensely fruity taste that sets us apart. Our commitment to using the best ingredients has earned us numerous accolades, including the prestigious Dalemain Marmalade Gold Award in 2021. Whether you’re enjoying our products on toast, in desserts, or as part of a cheese board, you can taste the difference that quality ingredients make.
